Recently I stumbled on the following story which I find very inspirational. When I read it, I instantly had to think of you. So I decided to share that story with you today.
There’s a song called “Thank God for Dirty Dishes” that makes the point that if you’re lucky to have enough food to make dirty dishes, you should be grateful.
So instead of grousing about your property taxes, be thankful you own property. When you have to wait in line at the bank or are stuck in traffic, just be grateful you have money in the bank and a car to drive.
It makes sense, but that doesn’t make it easy.
I have to admit that appreciation has not been a natural attribute for me. In my more ambitious days when I believed that excess was not enough, gratitude seemed like a form of surrender and a very poor life strategy. After all, if you’re satisfied with the way things are, you’ll never make them better.
What a pity I had to reach my 50s before I began to appreciate appreciation. I finally began to see that it was irresponsible and irreverent not to realize how many things I should feel grateful for. I also came to realize how good it feels to acknowledge how good I have it.
Real gratitude is much more than politeness, like saying thank you when someone passes the salt or conveys good wishes; it’s a deeper psychological state of genuine thankfulness.
Whether we believe whatever good fortune we have is the product of our own labor and talents, random luck, or a gift from God, the fact remains that each of us could spend a full day identifying all the things that merit gratitude.
According to an old proverb, “If you never learn the language of gratitude, you’ll never be on speaking terms with happiness.”
I’m still a beginner, but it’s true; the more I appreciate, the happier I am. That’s a lesson I want my children to learn.
For years I am trying to convince my readers and clients to practice appreciation toward their body, because appreciation can really heal many wounds, especially the wounds of the soul. I do get how hard it is to appreciate a body which is overweight or even obese, a body you don’t like. But sometimes it just takes a small step beyond the ordinary, a step into the unknown, an uncomfortable step, even a step that might seem weird at the beginning to make new and desired experiences and see better results.
Why can and should we appreciate weight issues?
First of all we should be thankful that we have a body and thus that we have life. Without your body you would not have anything to complain because you would not have a life. You wouldn’t exist in this form.
Even a bigger reason to be thankful and appreciative our body is the very fact that it is overweight. When the body accumulates extra fat, it always has a reason for it. Under normal circumstances our body doesn’t have a problem to burn extra fat. But sometimes it needs to accumulate fat in order to safe your very life. Two very common reasons for that are being undernourished (through intensive dieting or real famine) or an accumulation of acid and toxins which need to be stored away safely from our vital organs and the blood stream (the fat serves as “storage room”).
Very often extra fat serves a psychological purpose, for instance when a woman feels unsafe or in danger. So the body helps her to gain extra protection or a “buffering” so she can’t be hurt that much.
Most of the time excess weight is simply your body’s way of talking to and trying to alert you that there is something “out of balance”.
Many women like to “hide”; they don’t want to step up and show their talents, they play small for different reasons. To them the extra fat serves a very important purpose.
Then there are women who don’t like sex or they don’t want sex with their husband. When they belong to the group of women who find it hard to say ‘No’, their body finds a solution to say ‘No’ in their behalf by accumulating so much fat that they are no longer attractive to their partner. Of course that is entirely unconscious and bypasses the mind.
Whatever the root cause behind weight accumulation is – yours might be a completely different one than mentioned above -, the body always has a purpose, and thus you have plenty of reasons to show your body your appretiation and be thankful for what it is doing in your behalf. Although this completely bypasses the mind and we often don’t understand what’s going on, your body is actually doing you a tremendous service. Many women, including myself, wouldn’t even be alive anymore without the extra fat.
And if that all is not enough reason for you to be thankful to your body, how about appreciating everything your body is doing every minute and second of the day, 24/7, 52 weeks of every year? Each second of the day our body is doing a million different things to keep that “machinery” going and keeping you healthy and alive without your collaboration and often even despite of all the bad things you are doing to your body and all the verbal punishment.
Today I want to challenge you to make a test for the next seven days.
Write a list of everything you can be thankful for to your body and everything you like about it. Then keep writing that list for seven days minimum. Every morning after waking up and every evening before going to sleep you thank your body for everything it is doing for you. Try to be serious. Remember, you have plenty of reasons to be genuinely thankful for to your body.
Then, in seven days from reading this article, you post your experiences below. I bet you will feel very differently and have gained a better relationship with your body. Some results are no less than miraculous.
Happy slimming!

Since a few years we are occasionally being told that there are some bad habits that are as bad or even worse for our health as smoking.
For decades I thought that smoking is the unhealthiest habit of all, but apparently there are other habits that are as unhealthy as cigarettes. Scientists and researchers say that some habits expose us to the same toxins we get from cigarettes. Other habits can increase the cancer rates as much as smoking does. And worst of all, the habits we are talking about today also make you fat.
The good news is that fixing those habits is easier than quit smoking.
According to scientists, the worst of all bad habits – besides smoking – is a sedentary lifestyle. Frankly, I have no doubt that sitting all day is very unhealthy. You don’t have to be a physician to understand what sitting all day can do to our body. But what are the alternatives when you have an office job? There are a few ways you can do about that:
Use the breaks to for a short walk.
Use a standing workstation in your office.
When commuting to work, park your car further from the door so that you’re forced to walk a few steps.
Instead of wasting your time in front of the TV, go for a walk in the evening. You will see that this will improve the quality of your sleep.
If you want to do something very good for your body, go to the gym twice a week. 30 minutes each time is already enough.
For the sake of weight loss, going on a daily 45 to 60-minute walk and going to the gym twice per week is enough.
Maybe your issue is not the time but your own weight. If you are too heavy to move, then there is a beautiful thing called water. The heavier you are, the better you will be carried by water and you can move in ways you could never move outside of the water. Swimming therefore is not also healthy, it is also easy on your joints.
Although eating a good amount of protein is important for weight loss, many people eat far too much meat. The biggest problem is the growth hormone IGF-1 farmers use to raise their animals for bigger profits. That substance can promote the growth of cancer cells.
Ways to do it better:
You don’t need meat for each meal. Reduce it to two to five meals per week.
Only buy meat from organically grown free-range and grass-fed animals from licensed organic farms. You will see that their meat tastes much better. Although it is more expensive than the meat you buy in your supermarket, by reducing the amount you can reduce the costs and make the higher quality more affordable. Besides, since organic meat contains no or less toxins, you save money in health costs in the long term.
Instead of meat you can eat several fish meals per week. In order to be on the safer side regarding toxins, I recommend to go with freshwater fish. Try to eat as much fish you eat meat. That way you get the best nutrients from both.
Any kind of beans have very high protein levels and beans are ultra cheap. By adding two or three bean meals per week you can better afford the more expensive organic meat and fish. There is a large variety of legumes: red beans, Borlotti beans, white beans, green beans, lentils in all colors, peas, etc. and they are all high in nutritional value.
Another very good source of proteins is eggs. Here too I highly recommend to only buying eggs from organically raised free-range hens. After a few times of eating organic eggs you will not want any others.
Dairy products is another way of adding proteins. Cheese is great for that purpose. If you are intolerant to dairy products, you can go with Buffalo milk products, they are better to tolerate.
I personally loved cooking on my gas stove when I was living in Canada. Many households in North America are equipped with gas stoves. But did you know that every time you cook a meal, you’re getting a dose of carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and formaldehyde? But not only that. According to scientists, these three contaminants released from gas stoves exceed public health guidelines.
Here is how to avoid that:
While cooking or baking, open your window and/or use your vent hood. This can reduce pollutant levels dramatically. If you only have a vent hood and no window in your kitchen, use the back burners to make sure your vent hood captures the most of the pollutants.
Unfortunately it gets worse regarding cooking. The by far worst and most health hazard habit is using microwave ovens. And it doesn’t matter whether you just defrost some frozen food or heat the food in the oven. First of all, although the manufacturers will tell you, that their ovens don’t leak, they do. Secondly, as soon as you switch on the oven, the electromagnetic radiation goes up dramatically – in other words, they radiate a lot. Thirdly, microwaves alter the DNA in your food and thus your body does not recognize food as such but as toxins. Within only three minutes of eating something microwaved, your blood tests positive for cancer. I know scientists who call microwave ovens “The kiss of death”.
Alternatives:
Use your electric kitchen range to cook and bake.
Heat pre-cooked food in your fry pan with a little bit of healthy oil.
Invest in a steamer oven. They are as convenient as microwave ovens with the difference that the heated food tastes much better than the microwaved food and secondly, they don’t have any of the disadvantages microwave ovens have.
Using bad oils to cook is another health threat. For several years now health experts are warning from using the wrong oils. Most of the time these are cheap ones. When heated, they release compounds that are found in cigarette smoke, such as aldehydes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Healthy oils:
For heating food I use organic, native coconut oil/fat.
For my self-made salad dressings and to sprinkle over the food to give cold and cooked meals a Mediterranian taste I use organic virgin olive oil.
Since I love the smell and taste of butter, for baking and adding to vegetables and smashed potatoes, for example, I use organic butter (from organically fed and grass-fed animals). Do not use the other king of butter.
Many Americans are insanely sleep deprived. Sleep deprivation leads to symptoms like high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, and obesity. Studies show that poor sleep or sleep deprivation can speed up the growth of tumors.
Here is what you can do:
Learn a methodical relaxation method like Autogenic Relaxation.
If you feel tired in the morning, you are not getting enough sleep or good quality sleep. Listen to your body and the alarm signals it’s giving you. Take this seriously.
Ask your doctor to send you to a sleep laboratory to get tested for sleep apnea.
During the day, drink enough water. During the night the body intensively detoxifies and cleanses, and that requires enough water. Not drinking enough water can diminish the quality of your sleep or you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep anymore. .
Don’t watch dark or action movies before going to bed because this causes a lot of stress in your nervous system.
Instead of watching TV, you can go for a short walk around the block or get a dose of fresh air in your back yard.
Of course, I would never recommend to rather smoke than falling for the mentioned habits. Smoking is still a no go regarding health in general and weight loss in particular. I do understand that there are health experts and doctors who are telling you that just smoking a few cigarettes per day is not dangerous. I vehemently disagree. Especially with an addiction like smoking you can’t just be a little addicted. Either you are addicted or you’re not. And it is my deep hope that none of my followers, readers and clients is a smoker. Smoking and vaping is one of the worst addictions and far more dangerous than we are being told.
Be it smoking or one of these 6 habits, they all contribute to weight gain…some more and some less. Eliminating these habits ASAP will certainly make it easier to lose weight once you will have chosen a sensible weight loss strategy.
Do you agree that bad habit is hard to overcome? In order to make it a little bit easier it’s helpful to understand how habits build.
Every day we make choices in our lives and they are not always helpful or beneficial. We make choices without even realizing that they are not the best for us. And when we get sick and overweight after a while we often wonder why. It may seem like undeserved or without a good reason. But it never is. Every condition in our life we have attracted through thousands and thousands of conscious or subconscious choices we have made in the past.
When we start looking at our habits honestly we suddenly realize that not all of them are good and helpful. But first let us look at how habits can build: the good ones as well as the negative ones.
Whenever we see, hear, experience, say, think, feel or imagine something, our brain immediately registers that information and it will be stored in our subconscious mind as a FACT, no matter whether it’s true or not. The more such information is repeated, the more it becomes a pattern, then a habit and finally reality…without fail. This is true for negative as well as for positive habits.
The way we perceive a life situation or how we feel about and react to, often come from our parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, and mentors, but also through books we read and TV shows we repeatedly watch. The first habits we adopt in life primarily come through our environment. These sources only inspired us to pick up a certain habit, but we were the ones who chose to repeat them.
Later we form habits by making daily poor decisions, mostly in an attempt to stay in our comfort zone and out of laziness. Most of the time these are the poor habits…those habits, which contribute to poor health and weight gain.
Habit is a very important function of the brain, because your brain takes over and does the things you do repeatedly so that it’s free to deal with new and unexpected situations. If we would have to think about everything we do during any given day we would get crazy or at least have a nervous breakdown.
The same is true with our thoughts and feelings. Thought and emotional patterns can become habits as well. When we repeat the same thoughts and feelings over and over again, the subconscious mind will take over after a while and bring the outer results automatically without us realizing how this could happen. This is a great mechanism, but also has consequences for us we do not really want nor appreciate.
For instance, if you think mainly about being overweight, diets, how food can make you fat, how much you hate your body as it is, you will eventually gain more weight. You then think again about being overweight and you will experience the symptoms accordingly. This circle of thinking and feeling and remembering about your weight becomes so automated after a while that you do not even realize what you are actually doing and creating for your life. And the more often you repeat certain thoughts and behaviors, the more your thinking just gets on “auto-pilot” and several aspects are repeated like a CD that is played over and over again without you even noticing because it became so normal.
As a matter of fact overweight people think about their weight all the time. They just have become so used to it that they do not even realize their thinking anymore. And the thinking and feeling about their weight moves to a more subconscious level, and although it’s merely subconscious, these thoughts and emotions are constantly there, bringing more of the results you don’t want. If you think mainly about your weight, you will eventually have weight issues…and more and more of them.
Remember the principle of cause and effect. You can’t sow salad and expect to harvest carrots. Likewise you can’t constantly think about your terrible extra weight and expect to become slim and lean.
It also works pretty much the same with the food we eat. Our body creates enzymes to digest the food we eat regularly, and it stops creating enzymes for food we never or seldom eat. That’s why we often tend to think that the unhealthy foods we so like were better for our body than the healthy alternatives. Of course, it’s not, but our bodies simply found a way to deal with these unhealthy or toxic substances. And when we change our poor eating habits to healthy eating, it takes our body a while to get used to food it didn’t have in a long time or even never before and start creating those digestive enzymes again.
So we can really say that being overweight in itself is a bad habit as well because of repeated patterns – it has become a complex of habits of our thinking, feeling, acting and dealing with food. That’s one big reason why losing weight and keeping it off can be so darn hard: the problem is so complex. It has become automated. And this on top of all the bad, fattening habits many of us have adopted over the years.
Therefore, the bad habit of being overweight is not only in the eating, drinking and exercising, but also in the thinking, behaving, and feeling. For example, one of my former participants used to enter the gate to her yard side-wise even long after she had lost all her excess weight with WW. That, of course, created a new reality of gaining weight back in order to fit into that old habit of entering the gate side-wise. Only once she realized how she had been creating that reality of being obese through her behavior and by changing that she began to get lasting results.
Instead of making things more complex than they need to be, it’s very advisable to start your new weight loss process by eliminating and transforming your bad habits so that you can move forward in your progress without constantly sabotaging yourself.
All that being said I hope that it has become obvious to you how complex the habit topic alone is and why losing your extra weight has been so hard in the past. Your complex of habits has constantly gotten in your way and sabotaged even your most serious attempts to lose that weight. Why did you allow that? You didn’t know better. Nobody told you in the past. Everything you thought you knew was that you needed to eat less and exercise more. That mantra has given you a completely false understanding of the real nature of weight gain and weight loss.
We can make conscious new choices at any point in our lives. The most successful people are good role models for adopting better habits into their lives. Successful people literally depend on good habits. Since inhibiting positive habits helps people to become millionaires, why not also find out how positive habits can help you achieve your weight goal, be healthy and live a longer life?
It’s a matter of making the right choices.
Today choose to take care of your poor habits. Decide which way you want to take: alone (this may take months or even years) or with the help of a coach (takes a few weeks or a couple of months).
Just CHOOSE!
Then set a date in your calendar when you want to begin your habit transformation process, highlighted in yellow.
Happy weight loss!

We are living in a time where everything has to happen on the push of a button. Because of cell phones and WiFi radiation, people’s attention span has drastically been decreased. When people want something, they want it yesterday. They can’t wait, they can’t allow processes to happen, things to grow and look forward to receiving a gift on Christmas instead of today.
A recent experience with one of my clients has demonstrated this so extremely well that it made me cry for a day.
Let’s call her Martha. Martha has been doing very well with my system. She showed up every day and went through the daily action steps. And because she was so disciplined, she had great weight loss success immediately. Because she was so happy with my program, she decided to become my affiliate partner – partly because she wanted to finance her attendance in one of my programs and also because she wanted some additional income.
Because she was a new affiliate partner I invited her to a free four week affiliate training program where we are meeting four Saturdays for 90 minutes on Zoom. The purpose of that training is to give my partners a great start and fast income, because especially now where so many people in the USA earn less due to the Covid crisis, many people have to earn a side income pretty soon.
Now, if you guessed that like losing weight, earning money as an affiliate might take some time, you are right.
Martha was on the first Saturday call, missed the second one and joined us for the third call. That was before we had even started with the promotion. Monday morning I went online and just wanted to send her the good message that I will get some media appearances in her state to help her earn money faster, when I saw her message. In that message she let me know that she could not commit to more Saturday trainings (four in total) and that therefore she would not want to work as an affiliate.
Did you ever hear about a new job which does not involv any learning?
That woman was just one inch away from the success she wanted, and she quit because of her impatience. Over time I have come to know her quite well, and she is the kind of person who does something in a rush and then changes her mind. And I also know that my method is the only chance for her because she already had a gastric surgery and gone through pretty much all diets that exist (according to her own words).
According to her own words she is a quitter. She would begin something and then quickly give that up and turn to something else. This is the behavior of people who are never successful…neither regarding weight loss nor in live generally.
I see similar situations regarding weight loss so many times. When I work with people in group or one-on-one coaching sessions I see who is shortly before a major breakthrough. And so often women give up right before such a breakthrough moment just because of their impatience.
They can’t wait. They can’t allow a process to happen. And they will never know how close they had come to their goal.
Then they go on the next fad diet, take expensive weight loss products or get a gastric surgery done which create tremendous health problems and make matters worse in any regard. And at the end they gain that quickly lost weight back because it was not a sustainable method. Yes, they did have quick success…but at what cost?
All processes and goals require time. We can’t force things into manifestation…we can work them into manifestation. All things have their own timing, be it weight loss or becoming financially free.
As a surfer you can’t controle the wave – you can only ride it.
If you want to lose weight for good, you better develop the habit of being patient, otherwise you will find yourself at the end of your life, frustrated, broke, ill and still overweight, blaming anything and anyone else but yourself. Losing weight for good is very much about letting go: letting go of the causes as well as of the extra fat. By being impatient you constantly disturb and stop the process you have started. Then you have to start all over again and you will never achieve enough momentum to achieve your desired goal. And this is really sad.
Here is what the typical diet process looks like:
People go on a diet and then stop. After a while they jump on the next bandwaggon, and when they realize that they don’t achieve their goal as they wished, so they stop again. That way they go from diet to diet and program to program, spending thousands of dollars and at the end they find themselves at the old starting point again, and at some point they simply give up. Nobody has enough willpower and energy for constantly losing and failing over a longer period of time. So dieters are literally forced to give up after a while.
Because of the nature of the dieting approach, people are FORCED to stop the process after some time, otherwise they would get too much deprived of vital substances and become severally ill. So their weight loss process is a constant stop and go and stop and go without gaining any momentum. But momentum is crucially important for any goal achievement process. That’s why patience is so important.
Without patience…no momentum. Without momentum…no goal achievement.
Therefore, patience is a necessary, indispensable part of your weight loss success.
“Patience is a necessary, indispensable part of your weight loss success.”
Would you ever open a petal so that the flower would bloom sooner? Would you break an egg just because you wanted to see that chicken be born sooner? Would you ever cut the cocoon of a butterfly just to let it fly before its time would have come to spread the wings?
Nobody who is reading this article would ever be that stupid. But why can so many women not come up with the same common sense when it comes to their weight loss?
Please keep in mind that you did not gain that extra fat within a few weeks or months. So why on earth can anybody expect to lose it that quickly? Our body is not a machine…it takes the body time to shift all the functions and make the necessary changes so that it can burn off the extra fat for you.
For your body, there is a lot of “underground” and foundational work required before you can see the results on your scale. Expecting the body to do its job much faster than it really can according to its own nature is simply not fair, it’s not realistic and it’s not sensible at all.
Here is a simple test whether you are on a fad or on a real cause-transformation weight loss program. If you are new to my system, fads lead to fast weight loss at the beginning but the results are not maintainable; the only maintainable method is to transform or eliminate the root causes so that your body doesn’t have the need to hang on to its extra fat anymore. In other words, you change the problem at the foundation, at its roots and the problem changes itself.
Here is the test:
If you lose weight immediately and if the weight loss gets slower and harder over time, you’re on a fad and doing something that is against your body’s nature. If it takes a while for the weight loss to show on the scale and weight loss slowly increases more and faster over time, then you’re on a cause transformation program. The first one leads to yo-yo dieting and the latter to lasting results.
The problem is that impatient people are constantly demanding and screaming for the next fad diet. They want immediate results. Of course they then complain for years after the diet failed. But sure enough, as soon as the next “new” diet will be advertised, they jump on that bandwaggon like headless sheeps following one another running off a cliff.
The lasting, maintainable approach of eliminating and transforming the root causes first is only for the smart, educated and patient kind of women. Unfortunately, many of these women have already gone through so many diets and programs that they have lost faith in their body’s capability to burn off fat. The only way for these women to achieve their desired weight goal is by cultivating patience.
Cultivating patience is one of the first things for a successful weight loss process.
Happy slimming!

Is your health and weight loss goal worth five to fifteen minutes of your time every day?

Especially women try to convince me that their weight issues have a genetic reason. They tell me that their mother/father and grandmother were overweight as well and that they will have to live with their extra weight for the rest of their lives. Yes, doctors do tell you that you can’t influence your DNA, but this is simply not true. There is scientific evidence that we can change our DNA with our behavior, not only for ourselves but we can also pass the positively altered DNA along to our children and grandchildren.
We are not just a victim of our ancestors and their genes. There is scientific evidence that our daily habits can turn genes on or off. Scientists call that gene expression or epigenetics. The simple definition of epigenetics is the study of biological mechanisms that can switch genes on or off. Thanks to epigenetics we know that environmental stimuli can also cause genes to be turned on or off (worst of all currently are cell phones and WiFi). Our DNA can be modified by what we eat, where we live, the kind of people we interact with, when and how much we sleep, how and how often we exercise, and the aging process.
“We are not just a victim of our ancestors and their genes. There is scientific evidence that our daily habits can turn genes on or off.”
If you have thought so far that you’re just a victim of your ancestors’ DNA, this is now good news for you. It is worth eating healthy, it is worth sleeping enough, it is worth exercising regularly, it does matter who our friends are, and your thinking does play a big role. Therefore, our health, weight, and pretty much our entire life are very much in our own hands.
Over 20,000 genes and the endless possible combinations and arrangements open up a whole new world to weight-struggling women. If we can reverse the gene’s current state and keep the good while eliminating the bad genes, then we’d be able to reverse obesity and weight issues.
According to The Owner’s Manual for the Brain by Howard, our daily habits can and will turn genes on or off. Our habits therefore determine whether we are opening the door to cancer, diabetes, addictions, brain damage, heart diseases, and early aging or to health, wellness, being slim, and longevity.
“Our habits determine whether we are opening the door to cancer, diabetes, addictions, brain damage, heart diseases, and early aging or to health, wellness, being slim, and longevity.”
Therefore it’s safe to say that our habits determine our fate. Bad habits can and often do lead to financial problems, job loss, and health issues. These results all affect our relationships, our happiness, and our health again. This all leads to stress which forces the body to create adrenalin and cortisol which switch on a series of bad genes. These then can lead to heart disease, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and weight gain… a veritable downward spiral.
Habits have always had a tremendous domino effect, and it would be a bad decision to ignore them. Especially when it comes to weight loss, habit is at the very foundation of your weight loss success or failure. Your habits either make or break your weight loss success.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
Mahatma Gandhi
“Your habits either make or break your weight loss success.”
Here are some of the bad habits that turn on bad genes:
Consume alcohol excessively
Drug consumption
Smoking
Unhealthy eating (too much junk food)
Sedentary lifestyle (lack of daily aerobic exercise)
Sugar consumption (sugar is toxic and leads to many bad chemical reactions in the body)
Lack of studying (not exercising our brains by reading or learning new skills leads to faster aging)
Allowing negative thinking and emotions
Using a microwave oven (microwaves alter the DNA and inevitably lead to weight gain)
Using a cell phone and WiFi internet (both are based on microwave technology which is known to alter the DNA)
Since everything has two sides, good habits can also turn good genes on and bad genes off. Positive habits lead to a never-ending positive chain reaction leading to reduced stress, better health, financial freedom, longevity, happiness, good relationships, success, etc.
“Positive habits lead to a never-ending positive chain reaction leading to reduced stress, better health, financial freedom, longevity, happiness, good relationships, success, and a lean body.”
We all know that changing habits is far from easy. The statistics of people who set New Year’s resolutions show a sad truth: over 95% of people fail with their resolutions. We see the same numbers regarding weight loss – less than 5% of people ever succeed. The biggest stumbling blocks are always their habits. In desperation, people ask, “Why is losing weight so hard?”
I hope that you begin to realize how powerful habit change can be, how much easier weight loss can become, and how much better your overall life can be.
To start your habit transformation process, I want to encourage you to do two things right away:
Think about your worst habit that is contributing to your weight.
Ask yourself how your weight and life would be in 12 months from now without that habit.
Being patient with your habit transformation is too powerful, and we’d be unwise to ignore it. On the other side, bad habits lead to too much stress, disease, weight gain, faster aging, and suffering if left unattended. The smartest way is to begin with your habits.
Did it ever happen to you that you started a new diet, totally fired up and motivated. Then a few days into the diet you suddenly realize that you are eating your favorite chips, chocolate or pasta without even realizing? Or maybe you found some “good reason” not to exercise?
As soon as you are trying to change your habits, your subconscious mind will do literally everything to bring you back to your old habits.
Habits are thе brаin’ѕ wау оf engagement so thаt wе dоn’t hаvе tо соnѕсiоuѕlу process аll thе overwhelming ԛuаntitу of infоrmаtiоn it iѕ receiving. Wе live in thе so-called information аgе but our brain keeps doing what it always hаѕ dоnе; dealing with thе constant flоw оf ѕtimuli it gеtѕ whеn we are awake. This hаѕ bееn a full-time job fоr our brain since we wеrе соnсеivеd, and it’s doing that job literally 24/7…365 days year after year. In order to avoid overwhelm and constant nervous breakdowns because of the overload of information, the brain picks out things we do regularly and labels them as “habit”.
Sоmе оf these habits are simply about kеерing our body funсtiоning рrореrlу but a lоt оf habits have to dо with the way wе do things, move, behave, react to people, situations and circumstances; the way we think and perceive our environment. Unlеѕѕ we livе in a ѕоlitаrу wоrld with no intеrасtiоn with thе rеѕt оf thе wоrld оr thе people thеrеin, wе will аlwауѕ bе соnfrоntеd with ѕituаtiоnѕ where wе must mаkе сhоiсеѕ, and these choices often happen within a split second by bypassing our conscious mind. Sоmе are simple, ѕоmе are more соmрlеx like whаt tо еаt оr what not tо еаt, when to exercise and when to relax. Many оf them require nо thought though since our brain is already pre-programmed tо асt in a helpful wау in our body’s terms. We hаvе done something wеll or inappropriately in thе past and our brain hаѕ received fееdbасk (it wеnt wеll, do thаt аgаin; аltеrnаtivеlу thаt wаѕ rubbish, do ѕоmеthing differently). Cоnѕеԛuеntlу the unconscious part of our brain iѕ full of wауѕ of dеаling with situations that wе thоughtlеѕѕlу еmрlоу to make our lives easier.
Hаbit iѕ a learned behavioral response that has bесоmе associated with a раrtiсulаr ѕituаtiоn, еѕресiаllу оnе frеԛuеntlу rереаtеd. This can be things like…
what we eat, how we eat, when we eat
whether or not we exercise, what kind of exercise, when and how
the way we are thinking about ourselves, about food and life in general
the way we respond to others, situations and circumstances
our sleeping habits
how we deal with stress
our emotional reactions
Unfortunately, our brain does not distinguish between helpful habits and habits that are negative. When we repeat a certain behavior often enough, our brain turns it into a habit and such a behavior literally gets on autopilot.
It’s no secret, wе do have a severe weight and оbеѕitу problem in the Western world. I dоn’t think thаt wе hаvе a weight loss problem per se…it’s not “losing” extra weight which is the problem. I rather think thаt we have a hаbit problem thаt rеԛuirеѕ uѕ tо dеvеlор mоrе bеnеfiting hаbitѕ that help us make the weight loss process easier, healthier, faster and maintainable.
These are a few poor hаbitѕ thаt cause wеight gain:
Slеер deficiency
Wоrking ridiculously early оr wоrking late might ѕееm like good habits at first sight, but inѕuffiсiеnt rest can really wreak hаvос оn уоur weight. Both lасk оf ѕlеер and sleep арnеа, combined with nightmаrеѕ, restless nightѕ can change thе hоrmоnе levels in your body, mаking уоu more likely tо gаin wеight. Nоt оnlу that, but it might аlѕо mаkе уоu indulgе in unhealthy eating behaviors. Sоmе diеt ѕtudiеѕ indiсаtе thаt оnе extra hour of ѕlеер might hеlр уоu shed as much as 14 pounds a уеаr!
Cорing with Dерrеѕѕiоn and Low Moods
Whilѕt ѕоmе реорlе might lose thеir appetite whеn fасеd with сhаllеnging situations in their livеѕ, thе орроѕitе thing саn hарреn also. During a depression, many people tend to рау less attention tо thеir diеtаrу hаbitѕ аnd ѕuссumb to еmоtiоnаl еаting because eating certain foods mаkе us fееl bеttеr. We all dо it frоm timе to time when we are feeling low, but еmоtiоnаl еаting iѕ a habit mаnу реорlе аrеn’t aware of…it literally creeps uр оn thеm. Suddеnlу thе bit оf сhосоlаtе саkе оr сhосоlаtе éclair becomes a rеgulаr еаting bingе, leading tо ѕugаr spikes, gluсоѕе аnd inѕulin lеvеlѕ gоing haywire.
Mindless Eating
Anоthеr рооr wеight lоѕѕ hаbit iѕ whеn you ѕhоvеl the fооd in your mouth, maybe even without sitting down inѕtеаd of taking уоur time for a meal. Such an eating habit leads to a lot more problems like stress, poor digestion, over-acidity, etc., all unnecessarily adding up to your weight.
Not Drinking Enough Water
An alarming bad habit is drinking soday pops and bottled juices which contain unbelievable amounts of toxins. Drinking is meant to assist your body in its cleansing and detoxification process. Instead, by drinking anything bottled you are literally adding to the toxic overload the body has alreay to take care of. Drinking pure water is the answer. It’s free and has many benefits that support your weight loss process.
These are a just a few of a long, long list of poor habits that lead to weight gain and/or that prevent people from losing extra weight for good.
Habits are such strong components which sabotage our most serious weight loss attempts and can bypass even the strongest motivation, willpower and discipline. There is nothing that destroys hopes, wishes, goals and New Year’s resolutions more and more dramatically than habit. In my Facebook group I can see it EVERY day how people are falling back into their old, poor habits. That’s why a group of like-minded people is very helpful.
You just can’t conquer habit with willpower. The only way to optimally dealing with habit is by understanding the way our subconscious mind works and using it’s own way of forming new habits. By the way, strong willpower is a habit as well. Your ways of aproaching weight loss, your ways of pursuing a goal, your mindset, your motivation (or the lack of it), these are all habits as well and can – need to – be trained.
As you may understand by now is that no matter what you, your poor habits will always get in your way and this is not your fault…it’s how your brain has been wired. And as you may also understand by now is that there is absolutely no sense whatsoever in starting a new weight loss program BEFORE transforming your poor, fattening habits first. Your habits will always set you back to your current status quo….no matter what!
I said that it’s not your fault because your brain is made to work that way and it’s true. Of course you are still responsible because you started these poor habits some day and repeated them long and often enough to form them. Now it’s your responsibility to form new, helpful, slimming habits that give you a real chance to make your next weight loss attempt last. Once your habits will be transformed, weight loss becomes much, much easier and sometimes even effortless.
In my SheSlimEasy 90-Day Habit Transformation program we work on one tiny habit every day over the course of 90 days. This gives you the chance to make small shifts on a daily basis and long enough to rewire your brain for all habits that lead to lasting weight loss.
Happy Slimming!
P.S. More information on how to form new habit will be published in my next blog post.

When it comes to any change generally and to weight loss in particular, our subconscious can be very creative in avoiding such a change. Our subconscious wants to keep the status quo. Change is not welcome…habit is.
How many times have you decided not to eat your favorite sweet food for a month, and three days later you suddenly found yourself buying exactly that and then eating it?
How often did it feel like your steering wheel was automatically taking a detour to the next fast food restaurant?
How many times did you decide to exercise three to four times a week and then something came into your way? You thought, “Well, what does it matter. It’s just once.” But then something else came up, the weather wasn’t to your liking, your child looked like he might get a cold…and then there was the point where you realized that you haven’t been to the gym for two weeks and now you have lost all your motivation?
Don’t we all know such situations?
First of all, these are all signs that you are doing something wrong and got off track.
Secondly, these are all signs that you are dominated by your poor habits.
And there is a third reason I’ll get back to in a minute. But first I have to take a short detour with this topic.
In 37 years of being a weight loss coach and by working with over 10,000 persons I have seen it a thousand times that especially women tend to self-sabotage their weight loss process. They start with great motivation and begin to lose weight. Then they tell you that they need a break, don’t have enough money, don’t have any time, or worse, they simply disappear without saying a word.
One of my current members recently had some great success simply by following the daily action steps in my free Facebook group. Then Christmas came, New Year came, now we are two weeks into the new year and she almost disappeared.
Shortly before Christmas we talked on the phone and I realized that she was very close to a major breakthrough in her weight loss progress. It seemed like she was just inches away from the next breakthrough. And then we didn’t hear from her for weeks.
So what happened?
The subconscious mind takes over and is trying everything in its power to set you right back to where you were before.
This is happening a million times every day and it’s happening even more now during the month of January.
People are so used to follow their likings that they don’t realize how they are sabotaging their own goals. They feel something inside they can’t name or allocate and instantly follow these emotions. It’s like being on the way to something good, then another thing comes your way that looks even more interesting you follow that like a dog follows a new smell. They don’t realize that someone else – a minor authority that should not be allowed to dominate their lives – is slightly and slowly taking the wheel into it’s hands and they are losing control. They have given up the wheel and are now on autopilot that can bring them literally anywhere but to their desired goal.
This is the power of habit. And habits are a great way to move you away from what you really want. They are the easiest thing to use for self-sabotage.
But how do you know whether you are sabotaging your own goals?
Here are 30 signs of self-sabotage:
Not feeling alike.
Feeling that you don’t have the time and that something else is more important.
Something else caught your attention.
Stopping the goal achievement process alltogether.
Using excuses (no money, no time, to hard, can’t, this is not for me, etc.).
Being unreachable.
Starting something new.
Being afraid of becoming emotional.
Avoiding to deal with your own circumstances.
Overplanning.
Lack of commitment.
Using labels for your current situation, the program you’re currently in or for the coach or trainer.
Labelling yourself (I’m this or that and hence this isn’t for me).
Wondering if things might be going to well and easy and you might be disappointed at some point.
Self-doubt.
Unknown fear of the new situation you wanted in the first place.
Feeling not to deserve this.
Self-doubt (Can I do this? What if I’ll fail again?)
I look fine the way I am. I don’t really need to lose weight.
Becoming bored with the process.
Feeling inadequate.
Initiating conflicts.
Being out of focus.
Compare yourself with others.
Questioning your purpose.
Critisizing.
Procrastination (I’ll do it later, I don’t have time right now or I need a break first).
Resistance.
Perfectionism.
Quitting.
Self-sabotage is a behavior or thought pattern that is holding you back and preventing you from achieving what you want and from doing what you have decided to do. There is nothing that has killed more dreams and goal achievement processes than self-sabotage.
And here is the big problem.
Most people begin to sabotage themselves shortly before a major breakthrough!
That means that they are on the right path but are afraid of their new self. When they stop the process and give in to their self destructive behavior, they stop a process that had the potential to be a success. Then, a few years down the road they realize that they once wanted to lose weight and still haven’t achieved their goal.
Following through with the current process is still shorter than quitting and then having to start all over again.
May you love yourself enough to allow yourself to overcome all obstacles and stumbling blocks and follow through with your weight loss process to the very end and be wise enough to ask for help when needed.
The first step of overcoming self-sabotaging behavior is by being AWARE of, by being honest in self-reflection. Vision yourself being slim. Ask for help.
Then check back on your bigger WHY – the reason WHY you wanted to lose weight in the first place. At this point it may also help to go deeper with your WHY, away from your own person to a bigger purpose.
Understand what’s going on subconsciously and forgive yourself. Maybe you are obese for a long time and your extra fat has been serving as kind of a protective shield around you; now you have no idea how you’re going to feel as a slim person and how to protect that new you.
Be prepared. Everybody gets to a difficult point no matter the goal. No goal achievement process goes only smooth and linear. Understand that when there will be the time when you want to run away, hide, take a break or quit, that you might be just inches away from a major breakthrough. Especially during this month this will happen to millions of women. Some of them are really on the wrong route and need to make some shifts and others are already on the right path and don’t realize it.
Just be smarter than your subconscious mind and use it to your advantage.
Happy slimming!

Is your health and weight loss goal worth five to fifteen minutes of your time every day?
If you want to learn a process that leads you to constant weight loss success by baby stepping, check out my Facebook group.
You can get a feeling for the 4 Pillars of Weight Loss process for free. Simply join my closed Facebook group where you can go through the process by taking tiny daily baby steps completely stress free and still make tremendous progress.
“Sure,” you may respond, “I eat too much of the wrong food and I don’t exercise enough. That’s what I’m doing wrong.”
But what if you eat mainly healthy and not really a lot? What if you exercise regularly and don’t lose weight significantly?
Actually, with my title I meant something completely different. I’m not talking about things like “Eat this, not that,” or “Eat less and exercise more.” I’m not talking about tactics and methods. I’m talking about a particular mindset.
One of the things I gained more clarity on in my life was the nature of “struggling” per se, and I remember especially two occurrences in my life when I really struggled a lot – and for years. The first big struggle was regarding my weight. This was a story going on for most of my childhood into my late twenties. Then, somehow, the struggle stopped – I just didn’t care about my weight any longer and shifted my focus onto my life. Instead of working on my weight, I was working on my happiness and self-worth. And the rest is history.
The second time I really struggled a lot was with my self-growth business in the 1980s. I was a single mom and I wanted to be with my daughter as much as possible. So I decided to build my own home-based coaching, seminar, and public speaking business. I did all right from the get go and we were lucky enough to always have some food on the table. And though some months I couldn’t pay my bills, I could always pay them the next month. However, I was never able to save any money for my daughter’s college or buy some special things like new furniture, a car, or nice clothes. It was just enough for what we really needed. And I was trying really, really hard.
Then, one day, I was very sick and very desperate. I had just found out that the women’s magazine I did many workshops for paid me less than other speakers and seminar leaders, although my seminars had the best and highest rates and always sold best, as they had told me.
I was a single mom and needed more money. The organizer became my best friend back then and she knew my situation. So she also knew that I depended on the magazine she was working for. When I found out that she had not told me the truth about my fee, I felt being taken advantage of. It was very frustrating to see that I was making that magazine so much money while I was doing all that work for them but was still struggling financially. It was very sad to realize that my best friend had lied to me.
So while lying in bed with high fever, I prayed and asked for a solution. I was too weak to do something, so I literally surrendered my problem.
Literally, within seconds, I was given a whole 9-month weight loss program with all the topics, with the content for a whole book and five CD’s. That was a weight loss program I had never seen before with many new ideas never heard of before – certainly not regarding weight loss. It was the total opposite of what other weight loss coaches offered. I even received the entire marketing concept. It was all there before my inner eyes at once. And all I had to do was get up and go to work.
The next morning, the fever was gone and I began writing the book. A few months later, I had finished that book, five CD’s, the curriculum and papers of a whole 9-month weight loss program, a workbook, and a marketing strategy, without ever having learned anything about marketing. That turned out to be one of the most successful marketing strategies ever.
Within only two weeks of the launch, all my 9-month workshops were filled. I only wanted to do two or three workshops, but I ended up doing twelve, the absolute maximum I could handle. But that was not enough. In fact, within four more weeks, I filled not only more workshops than I had planned to do…I filled them for another 9 months and was booked solid for the next two years.
That was proof to me that I had found something very special.
The interesting thing is that it took other coaches like Marianne Williamson, Geneen Roth, and Jon Gabriel more than a decade to come up with similar solutions, but all of them only offer parts of what I have found. What I was allowed to “download” from the Universe back then is still true today and I still teach these same principles in all of my workshops, seminars, and programs. And I am very surprised that I am still one of very few holistic weight loss coaches who can do that kind of work.
Now that I am writing all this down, – actually it’s the first time that I even share this with my readers – it even sounds to me like a miracle. And you know what? I think it was a miracle that happened that day and the years that followed. It was an enormous gift from God, not only to me, but to all of my clients also who had previously struggled with their weight and went from frustrating diet to diet. And now it can be a gift for you as well, if you are open and ready to learn a new way of weight loss make that one mindset shift.
Over the years, over 10,000 people (mostly women) have attended my workshops and seminars. Many had the same miraculous results I had with my weight loss. Others had to go through a different process than I had to in order to reach their weight goals. Sometimes, only a weekend workshop was all they needed for them to find the real cause and make the necessary shift from fat to slim. Others needed several months to find their real, underlying causes. But once they found it, losing weight became easier than ever before, really effortless, actually.
Why am I sharing this story with you?
Because I know that so many women have been struggling with their weight for years and just don’t seem to be able to find a way to lose their weight for good. They are all on a completely wrong route. With a small mindset shift and a new weight loss strategy, their weight struggle could end almost instantly.
Let me say that again.
With a small mindset shift and a new weight loss strategy, your weight struggle could end almost instantly.
What you must realize is that struggling in itself is a sign that you’re on the wrong path. As soon as you’re on the right path, the struggle ends and you can begin to see results – lasting results.
Struggling in itself is a sign that you’re on the wrong path.
For as long as you are struggling, you are literally holding on to what you don’t want: your excess weight. That way, it is impossible for you to get rid off those extra pounds.
You see, what happened to me when I lost weight is that I had eliminated the causes of my weight issues – unknowingly, though. Yet, it worked. This is proof to me that this is the right path. It works whether or not you do it consciously, and whether or not you believe in the method. Once the cause has been transformed or eliminated, your body no longer needs to hold on to its extra fat. Because your extra fat is just a symptom. It’s your body trying to alert you of a problem. It’s your body’s way to communicate with you that there is something wrong you should take care of. Your body has only one way of communicating with your: through symptoms. And once the cause is gone, the body doesn’t need to talk to you through extra fat any longer.
Unfortunately, by struggling with your weight you are exceeding the weight loss process, and for many this lasts a lifetime.
As long as you’re focusing on one or two methods, such as a diet and an exercise plan, you tend to expect too much of these tactics and disappointment is almost certain. You are constantly trying and going from diet to diet. On top of that you’re regularly weighing yourself, another way of keeping your current weight. That way, you can’t let go so easily. But it’s exactly the letting go that is a very important part of your weight loss process. Once you have let go and found the right solution, the struggle stops and losing weight becomes quite easy, very often even effortless.
It’s the letting go that is a very important part of your weight loss process.
Once you have let go and found the right solution, the struggle stops and losing weight becomes quite easy, very often even effortless.
The simplest trick is to let go. This requires a mindset shift.
Just let go! Let go of your expectations regarding how quickly your body needs to lose weight. Let go of your diet mentality. Let go of your quick-fix mentality. Let go of the belief that you knew how to lose weight better than your body does.
Just let go!!!
Happy slimming.

Why can people overeat with unhealthy food for decades, live the life of a coach potatoe, neglect their body, be in total denial regarding their psychology, and then expect to lose all that gained weight within only a few weeks?
Honestly, I don’t really have an answer to that question because I simply don’t understand such a lack of logical thinking. Of course, I do get that human beings are impatient and want to reach their goals ASAP once they have made a decision. But the gap between logic and the goal to lose weight fast is very, very big, especially with the diet approach.
One of the biggest issues is that people can’t distinguish between marketing messages and the truth. We have been told a million times that we can lose weight within seven to ten days. Plus, we are increasingly living in a world where we get everything at the push of a button. On thop ot that – to be totally fair – it’s a known fact that the current cell phone and WiFi technology shortens people’s attention span dramatically what leads to even worse impatience.
But where in all that is our common sense?
Well, maybe it’s just time to look at different weight loss methods to check which one is THE fastest.
Dieting
Since I have talked about the diet approach many times, I want to make this short. Dieting is against the body’s own nature and therefore can’t work long term. Going on a diet can give you some short term results but the weight will come back after a while. Depending on how many diets you have been trying or will choose to try, the constant up and down usually goes on for years and the person will eventually come to a point where she will resignate and give up all weight loss attempts.
So, although at the beginning you sometimes can lose weight quite quickly, what do you win at the end with yo-yo dieting?
Nothing!
By losing and gaining and losing and gaining you are not only jeopardizing your health, waste your precisouls life and make it more and more impossible for your body to lose extra fat.
Honestly, what is fast about that?
Exercise
Exercise alone has never been a fast tactic. Although exercise should always be part of a sensible weight loss strategy, it’s far from being fast nor maintainable. You can jog for an hour every day and 365 days and you may not even lose a pound. Believe me, I did it and that was the results. Zero weight loss.
And if you lose some weight and then stop exercising when you’ll get sick or older, you will gain the weight back.
Diet Pills
Like with any diet, at the beginning you may lose a lot of weight very quickly. But after a while you will gain it back because you didn’t take your body’s nature into consideration. You can’t fool your body.
Your body does not only know what you know. It also knows what you don’t know. Your body knows exactly what it needs to do to lose extra fat. But as long as you are interfering with diets and calorie reduction, you are forcing your body to go its own way, and it will do that because your body’s first job is to safe your life.
Therefore you can really say that your body has more common sense than you have….should you ever choose to take diet pills.
Since you will gain the lost weight back and even more, you can’t consider this to be a FAST method.
Gastric Surgery
In my humble opinion this is the most stupid way of losing weight, and any doctor who offers that kind of surgeries should be put in jail for a long time. Gastric surgery is slow murder.
No doubt, you can lose weight very quickly. But the price is very high. After such a surgery you will be sick for the rest of your life and there is very little you can eat. In other words, you are literally starving to death….slowly and surely. And not only that, after a few years you are going to gain that weight back.
So how is that FAST?
Liposuction
At first sight I would consider this to be the fastest method of losing weight.
But here too we have to take the body’s nature into consideration. Your body’s two main reasons for accumulating fat is acid and toxins. It creates fat when either of them increase to a level where it becomes dangerous for the body. In a loving attempt to safe your life, your body creates fat cells to store toxins and acid away in the safest possible way.
When you remove that fat, your body gets literally flooded with toxins and acid. And what would you do if you were your body? Create new fat. That’s one part.
The second part is that liposuction destroys part of the lymphs. This will create a new problem you probably didn’t have before. As soon as your lymphatic system doesn’t work properly anymore, you get lymph edemas, swollen legs and arms. Yes, it’s “just” water, but when you’re overweight, do you really care whether you have to get rid of fat or water? When the lymphatic system doesn’t work properly anymore, you will need compression stockings for the rest of your life. I’m not sure if you can call this a good solution.
Again, at the end of the day you can’t call this really “fast”.
Hypnoses
Hypnoses is a great method and I personally use several kinds of hypnoses in my coaching and therapy practice.
Hypnoses works partiularely well for compulsive eating and to suppress appetite.
The problem is that hypnoses alone is not a reliable problem solver as long as you don’t know the real, underlaying issues. Hypnoses alone therefore is not a reliable method….it can take months and years. But if you can find a weight loss coach who combines several methods and who can help you find the real physical and psychological causes, this can be a great solution. Depending on how much time it takes to address the real causes, weight loss can happen quite fast.
As a behavioral therapist I do believe in psychology. And in almost 40 years of my personal weight loss story and by working with over 10,000 individuals I can say with absolute certainty that 80% of a maintainable weight loss process is about the psychology.
But…there is a big “BUT”.
Psychotherapy is not fast. Traditional psychotherapy is about talking, talking, talking, and this can go on for years, even decades.
Yes, like I said, 80% is about the psychology. That should give you a realistic picture about a solid weight loss process. But there are also physical causes, emotional causes, even spiritual causes. A psychologist seldom understands all of them. I have met many psychologists who are even far from understanding all of the possible psychological issues that come with weight gain, especially if they never had to go through a weight loss process themselves. Those I know look at the issue soleley from the eating perspective too and why people overeat.
Although you may have a good chance for maintainable results, especially when the cause is the eating, it’s far from being “fast”.
Healthy Lifestyle
Although a healthy lifestyle ABSOLUTELY has to be part of a maintainable weight loss strategy, by itself it’s not a fast method and very often not even a lasting solution. The healthy lifestyle approach looks at weight issues exclusively from the physical standpoint and that’s never enough to make losing weight to last. Inner causes will not be transformed.
Therefore, maintainable only if the issue is the lifestyle and nothing else. Fast? Never.
The old way of losing weight
This is how most women go about losing weight. They go on a diet. Then when they realize that it doesn’t work, they quit. Some time later they try another method and fail again. They go from method to method and at the end they have to give up because they are desillusioned or have given up completely.
The New Way Of Losing Weight – 4 Pillars of Weight Loss
You may have heard me say that so far I have found 58 possible causes of weight gain. These causes can be physical ones (eating, lack of movement, hormones, high acidity levels, etc.), emotional ones, it can be the mindset (and the mindset is most of the time a huge contributing factor), and the unconscious. Again, 80% of the problem is the psychology, the part of the iceberg that is beneath the surface. But most known weight loss methods work only with the 20% of the visible part of the iceberg.
Thanks to decades of my own weight struggles and thanks to working with over 10,000 individuals I have been so fortunate to gain a completely different understanding of maintainable weight loss. I have spent over a decade of searching for other individuals with the same knowledge, hoping that I could give them my clients and enjoy my retirement. But to this day I only found one man who got close to what I know, but he can’t cover it all himself and works with a team of several experts. And he is still quite far from the truth, especially when it comes to female weight issues.
My 4 Pillar system takes the whole person, the whole being into consideration. We are body, mind AND spirit. We can’t solve a problem just on the physical level by ignoring the other parts of our beings.
Generally, everything you do on the physical level can lead to fast weight loss. But then you also want to keep the weight off. So what you do on the mental, emotional and unconscious level is the kind of transformation work you need to make your weight loss last. It’s an overall transformation process needed here.
So here at the Natural Weight Loss Academy we always work on all levels combined. The main focus is to find and address an individual’s cause or causes. That’s why you can’t just offer one solution and hope to fix them all. A sensible, maintainable weight loss process is always individualized. And since we work on all levels, we can exclude the yo-yoing most of the time, unless an individual cheats and is on a diet without telling me.
So minus the yo-yoing, and by securing that the weight loss will last, you can honestly say that this is THE fastest way of losing weight for women (for men it’s easier any way, so we are only talking about women here). Depending on the weight a woman starts the process at and depending on her seriousness and commitment, it can take anything between three months and three years. The heavier a woman is, the longer it will take, of course.
Let me share two examples.
Example 1
One of my current clients – let’s call her Jessica – joined my Facebook tribe four weeks ago. She jumped in both feet and took action on all the daily action steps right away. Not all the steps were easy for her – that’s normal – but she always discussed things with me. She never said, “I can’t.” Instead, she always asked, “What can I do with this problem?”
During the first two weeks nothing happened. She just went through the process and trusted the process. In week 3 she suddenly lost 5 pounds and 6 inches. This was during Thanksgiving week and she ate anything she wanted, even dessert. The only thing she did was watching her psychology and enjoying the family gatherings.
Two of Jessica’s most outstanding characteristics are her commitment to lose weight and be healthy, and her consistency in going through the process. She started at day 1 and never missed any of the daily action steps, no matter how small or silly they seemed to her.
Example 2
Another client of mine – Ruth – went through my SheSlimEasyprogram 5 years ago and lost weight nicely. I emphasized that she should make sure to stay on the path and later move forward on the SheSlimForeverprocess to make her weight loss maintainable. Recently she joined my Facebook tribe and admitted that she could only keep her weight by dieting and regular cleansing. In other words, she completely ignored the psychological part, the 80% of the process. And not only that, she lost everything she had accomplished five years ago and now has to start all over again.
Ruth has always been kind of reluctant, the opposite of Jessica. She was afraid of her emotions and of bursting into tears when working with me. That was proof to me that one of her major causes of weight issues is the way she is dealing with emotions. Unfortunately she didn’t understand that every tear she cried while going through the transformation process with me means losing weight for her.
During a one-on-one session over the phone with me she began to realize that she can’t block the process emotionally and still hope to achieve lasting weight loss. So she decided to trust the process. As a result, within only one hour of coaching she could solve and transform several issues.
Working with the 4 Levels
Just in case that you feel overwhelmed by the 58 possible causes, my system includes figuring out each client’s effective causes very quickly.
Of course, if you are trying to do it by yourself, it may take years. Please keep in mind, that we all have our black spots. No psychologist can do it by herself/himself. It would literally take centuries. But maybe you are the exception.
Or you can work through your psychological issues with your psychologist. I’m sure you will make some great progress, but the question is how long it will take.
If you are at the point where you realize the benefits of my 4 pillars of lasting weight loss, you have two options:
1.) Workshops or group coachings
2.) One-on-one coaching sessions
Both possibilities are very valuable. The group setting is very interesting because you see the struggles of other women and you also get a lot of encouragement from the other members. The downside is that it may take longer because I have to work with several individuals at the same time.
If you need to lose weight fast and if you have the means, then the one-on-one coaching setting is certainly the best choice.
Of course, a big contributing factor to your weight loss progress and success is your willingness to open up and be willing to work through the processes. If you bring that to the table, we can transform each of your effective causes within one to five sessions, depending on the intensity of the issue.
These are the steps of my 4 pillars of lasting weight loss:
Step 1: Habit Transformation (SheSlimEasy)
Step 2: Detox & Cleansing (SheSlimFast)
Step 3: Weight Loss Mindset (SheSlimSmart)
Step 4: Transformation of the Inner Causes (SheSlimForever)
Maybe, by now you are getting a pretty clear understanding of the effectiveness of my 4 Pillar process.
Conclusion
Changing your diet may bring you a step ahead.
Following a fitness program may bring you a step ahead.
Thinking positive may bring you two steps ahead.
Going through the 4 Levels and eliminating the real causes is entirely different ball game. It’s a transformation process. It does not only get two or three steps ahead….it brings you right to the top of your goal. And not only that, at the same time it can improve your relationships, it can reduce your stress levels, it can improve your professional life, and it definitely will improve your health and longevity.
Finding the REAL causes of weight gain and eliminating or transforming them makes the body fat obsolete. As soon as we understand our body’s message and solve the problem, the body has no longer a need to hold on to the extra fat and can burn it almost instantly.
Since I don’t work with diets, there is hardly any bouncing unless it’s about the normal hormonal cycle. Therefore, we can honestly say that working on all four levels of the human being is THE fastest weight loss method because it is maintainable.
At the beginning it may take a while for the body to realize what’s going on. But once the process gains some momentum, weight loss can be fast and effortless. Very often, my clients don’t even realize that they have lost weight because they are feeling good despite of the weight and stopped weighing.
Now I have to leave it up to you to make a decision for yourself. Do you want your weight loss to be hard or smart? Do you want to keep yo-yo dieting or do you want to put an end to it? Do you want to go from diet to diet or do you choose a more effortless way?
The choise is yours and yours alone.

Recently I told an aquaintant that I have lost 16 pounds in one month. Her first question was, “Which diet did you do?” Of course, as my follower, you know that I don’t do diets.
Are you one of those women who are still hoping for a miracle pill to be invented or the perfect weight loss diet to be created before you’ll die?
Then this might be good news for you.
There is something that really works like magic for lasting weight loss. It makes the weight loss process much easier, faster, more enjoyable, more reliable and almost effortless.
Although there is no magic pill and never will be (no matter what they are going to invent in the future) and there will never be a perfect weight loss diet that works for all and without fail plus for good, there IS a way that brings results that can be described as “magical”.
BUT….
You can’t find that “magic bullet” outside of yourself.
In fact, it’s much easier and simpler…and it doesn’t cost you a single penny.
Are you curious what that “magic bullet” is?
It’s something so great and wonderful that I find it hard to find the right words for it.
It’s called MOMENTUM.
If you can’t see the magic behind that word, don’t worry. You’re not alone. It took me years to understand the fantastic POWER of momentum.
Momentum is what provides the wind under your wings. You can also call it snowball effect.
Momentum is a build up of energy that leads to one single point or outcome. It’s behind what business people know as exponentiel effect.
This graphic shows linear progress. This is what you can expect from the diet approach at the beginning. But after a while the body slows the fat burning process down and then – if you stick with it long enough – it begins to stop completely. This is what I also call the two-dimensional weight loss tactic and this is what you can expect from a single tactic like dieting.
On the other hand, the exponential progress curve shows little effect at the beginning and then suddenly begins to double and triple quickly. This is the kind of curve that happens when you have momentum. In business the exponential success is preferred from linear success, which is not reliable anyway and hardly brings the real big successes and breakthroughs.
Translated to your weight loss process this would mean that you start with small, daily steps, and from day to day you are building a momentum without taking drastic actions. At the beginning you may not see much progress, but as the momentum grows, the weight loss goes faster and faster.
This also requires that you are not only settling for a single tactic but create your own, personalized weight loss strategy. Working on all levels of your self can then create such an exponential success line throgh momentum.
Taking daily small steps never feels daunting or stressful. But don’t you ever underestimate small daily action steps.
For fast and reliable weight loss success it’s important to gain momentum and momentum can only be built by taking daily actions.
What is momentum?
This is Britannica’s definition of momentum.
“Momentum, product of the mass of a particle and its velocity. Momentum is a vector quantity; i.e., it has both magnitude and direction. Isaac Newton’s second law of motion states that the time rate of change of momentum is equal to the force acting on the particle. See Newton’s laws of motion.”
“From Newton’s second law it follows that, if a constant force acts on a particle for a given time, the product of force and the time interval (the impulse) is equal to the change in the momentum. Conversely, the momentum of a particle is a measure of the time required for a constant force to bring it to rest.“
What we can say from that definition is that momentum only happens with motion. The more or faster the motion, the faster momentum will increase.
Momentum is very powerful in reaching our highest goals. Wherever there is motion, there is momentum.
The thing to get momentum going is to START. And then, right after the start, the second, third, forth, etc. step has to follow. If you don’t start, your weight loss process, for example, nothing will happen because motion drives actions and actions drive momentum. That means, the more motion you have at the beginning and the more regular that motion happens, the higher the momentum.
As you go through the actions, more and more motion is generated and each of your action steps will get easier. Goals that seemed too impossible to reach, suddenly become more realistic, even easy to reach.
First set a realistic goal. Be very clear and specific. The more specific your goal is the better.
For example, if you decide to go for a 30 minute walk or go jogging every day, it will get easier from day to day. And after a while you will not even have to think about. No matter the wheather, you will put on your jogging shoes and your jacket and you go for a walk or a jog. It doesn’t even cost you any energy anymore.
And as you gain momentum with your exercise routine, you begin to set other goals that support your weight loss, do these steps every day without fail and you will gain a tremendous momentum including several tactics that makes you unstoppable.
The downside is that when you stop taking these regular action steps, you will quickly lose your momentum and things will become hard and rocky. You will have to force yourself to go out for a walk and also other action steps will get harder.
The trick is to show up every day at the same time and plan your life around that event. Because, once you have gained momentum, you don’t want to lose it because now you know how much greater and easier it is with momentum.
To make it easier for you, I have created a Facebook page with daily tiny baby steps that build up on momentum. Each step takes between 5 and 15 minutes. And if you follow these steps every day at the same time, soon your momentum will begin to snow ball and you will experience what one of my members is experience.
Today I talked to one of my members of that group. She joined the group three weeks ago and she jumped both feet in. For the first two weeks not much happened other than a few important insights and an inner shift. Today she told me at the phone that she has lost four pounds within the last five dayse without dieting. On Thanksgiving day she even ate a piece of pumpkin pie without remorse and enjoyed it very much.
All this could only happen because she took action every single day.
Believe me, when you can lose weight by building a strong momentum, your weight loss process is going to be real FUN!
Recently one of my members of my Facebook group left the group because she thought that the daily 5 to 10 minutes was more time than she could spend. The comment of another members was, “When she doesn’t even have 5 to 10 minutes time for her weight loss process per day, then she really, really, really needs you.”
Of course, she is completely right. But this is something every person must have to find out for herself to make it work. As long as an overweight woman believes that she doesn’t have five to fifteen minutes time per day for her weight loss process, she is simply not ready to achieve her goal, or worse, she is even in total denial.
Daily action is the way to gain momentum. And momentum is the most important requirement for weight loss success, provided that you choose the right method. Of course, by now you understand that gaining momentum with a wrong tactic like dieting will not get you the desired results either. It requires the right method PLUS momentum.
This is the formula to your weight loss success:
S (Strategy) + M (Momentum) = Weight Loss Success
How about you? Do you think you and your health are worth to take action for 5 to 15 minutes per day?
Start gaining momentum today and you will never look back!
